The MEMORIAL RIDE

The Memorial Ride is just another program that the Fulton County FOP Lodge #64 participates in each year.  The Memorial Ride came about a long time ago when many of the now called Blue Knights (active and retired Law enforcement) were just simply motorcycle bike riders who like to get together and ride to different locations. The riders at that time said, “We rode for pleasure and we rode to honor.  We rode for one of our own who was shot and killed in the line of duty, (a ride that will never end)”.  We're the good guys!

The Blue Knights is a family fraternity. Spouses and children often accompany our members to the various rides and functions. Among the Blue Knight members, "There are no strangers, only friends you haven't met."

Most all of Lodge 64 involvement today is with Chapter VII Blue Knights Inc. that is based in Fayetteville, Georgia 30215. The chapter has grown very much since the day they use to ride in small groups.  Now the chapter has members from all over the city and they all work many different hours.

So what do you think bring them all together this day in time?  The answer became clear. "A Knight For Kids”, "Iron Torch Ride", Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, D.A.R.E., the "Georgia Police Memorial Ride, and Concerns of Police Survivors” are some examples of our favorites.   Many Blue Knights work long and hard to raise money for various charities.  Especially near to our hearts is helping children.  The events that make us who we are!

During these events, Georgia VII as a chapter has raised over $800,000.00 for charities in eight short years.  This has happened with hard work and sacrifices from our entire chapter members. As a result of our collective actions, Chapter VII is now portrayed as leaders in the communities.   Each year the Blue Knights make new friends and ride together as one!  Blue Knights GA VII now has over 100 riders who call themselves a Blue Knight.

According to the By-Laws, our purposes and goals are to:

To provide for the mutual assistance, enjoyment, entertainment, education, physical, mental and social benefit of its members and the general public.

To promote and advance the sport of motorcycling and the safety of motorcycling.

To serve the interests of motorcycle owners and users.

To promote by example and any other acceptable means, safe use, operation and enjoyment of motorcycles.

To develop a fraternal spirit between law enforcement personnel and the general public.

We are truly a family.
